Aldubáran – between gods and philosophers
Aldubáran is in distinguished company at these concerts and performs a mixed program of Faroese chamber music. With Aldubáran, the audience is taken on a journey through various captivating musical worlds, where some of our leading composers reveal their more intimate sides through works for smaller instrumental ensembles.
In addition to music by Eli Tausen and others, the program includes two string trios by Kristian Blak.
The first is the so-called “Egyptian Trio,” which is written with inspiration from Egyptian mythology. Each movement depicts a different Egyptian god, and these are very different in character — ranging from noble tones to wild, warlike music.
The second trio, “Portraits,” is a newly written work that likewise takes the listener on an adventurous journey through its movement titles: Le Philosophie, Le Couple, Le Chevalier Errant, and Faune.
