The Dorimus Chamber Choir
Doris Kjærgaard (conductor)
The Dorimus Chamber Choir has produced concerts marked by presence and great musicality since year 1993. The experienced singers perform 6–8 concerts annually, primarily in North Jutland, where the choir is based in Aalborg.
The Dorimus Chamber Choir has collaborated with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra on performances of larger works.
The choir’s repertoire spans a wide range within classical choral music – from early music and romantic compositions to contemporary works. At our concerts, we enjoy blending classical pieces with well-known seasonal songs and hymns.
The choir has premiered several works written specifically for Dorimus Chamber Choir – including Kjerlighedens Gjerninger with texts by Søren Kierkegaard and music by Jakob Lorentzen, and Tre Davids salmer for blandet kor og harpe by Christian Præstholm.
The conductor throughout the years has been Doris Kjærgaard, who is also the organist and choir director at Jetsmark Church. Doris Kjærgaard holds a master’s degree from the music conservatory and has pursued further studies in conducting with Morten Schuldt Jensen (Freiburg), Tone Bianca Dahl (Oslo), and in vocal training with Annette Bo Nielsen (Nørre Sundby).
