Monika Stauss Joensen and Andrea Stauss Hofmann are sisters and originally from Switzerland.
Monika has lived in the Faroe Islands for many years working as violin teacher at the music school. She plays with Føroya Symfoniorkestur and is an active chamber musician. As a touring artist Monika has performed in several countries such as Italy, France and USA.
Her sister, Andrea, lives in Switzerland, where she works as an organist at several churches and is active as a chamber musician.
Monika and Andrea began playing violin and piano when they were six and seven years old. Already four years later they impressed at the “Yecklin competition” in chamber music in Zürich.
Each year they play at various venues in Switzerland and they have had a few concerts in the Faroe Islands through the years.
