In 2010, MonkeyRat burst onto the Faroese and Danish music scene with their hit debut album, “Fuck The Jante Law,” followed by their second album, “Sunshine,” which was performed live on DR1 radio.


In 2016, MonkeyRat released a funky EP and single with The Hentze Horns, who performed in Denmark and Greenland live on KNR TV.


In 2018, MonkeyRat released their first gospel/hip-hop single featuring Debbie Cameron, Deborah Herbert, and Joanita Zachariassen, and toured around the Faroe Islands.


In 2020, they released two singles: “Good Morning Reykjavík,” which Anna co-wrote and was performed in Iceland, receiving airplay on RUV radio, followed by “U Gotta Love Being U” featuring Alain Apaloo, which is Anna's first co-written song with Beinir and Hans Andrias Jacobsen.


In 2022, Anna earned a master's degree in music from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and released “The Child” featuring Anna Sofía Skoradal and “Isolation,” which is a composition and poem by Anna that received praise from critics.


In 2024, MonkeyRat released three singles: “Niels Uni Dam,” a funky smash hit with a fun YouTube video; “What A Crazy World,” which features a psychedelic rock sound from 1969; and “Where’s The Peace” featuring Ayi Solomon, expressing African and Western music, written together for PEACE – World meets Funk and Punk – an African funky beat for the heart and feet.
