Sissal Grækarisdóttir Magnussen (vocals), Ólavur Gaard (guitar), Kristian Pauli Ellefsen (keys), Árni Jóhannesson (bass), Hjørtur Pætursson Háberg (drums)
Sissal sings and writes lyrics where she interprets her own experiences through everyday language and melancholic music. A distinct storyteller and singer. The lyrics feel raw at times and lighter at other times. The songs have a playful and seeking feel to them as the band works on the songs with Sissal.
The band draws inspiration from many genres. You can expect some improvisation and some nods to jazz and blues at Summartónar. The musicians are all very capable at improv and you might hear an interpretation of a jazz-standard this evening. Or perhaps one or two songs from their album “A Lonely Chair With a View” from 2018.
