Vibeke Astner was an organist before her feet could reach the pedals. A fascination with the timbres and expressive possibilities of the great instrument is still the driving force in her musical work. She is curious about 500 years of classical music played with arms and legs and enjoys communicating music for and with others, which is why Astner is an extremely active concert organist both as a soloist and as a chamber musician throughout Europe. Astner has a great love for church music, where the music illustrates the great thoughts and feelings in human life.

Astner is a trained concert soloist from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and teaches tomorrow's professional organists at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus - the city where she is also organist at St. Luke's Church. Astner has recorded 8 critically acclaimed CDs that are often played by P2. Former prize winner at P2's Chamber Music Competition. Often invited as an inspirer in church music forums. Most recently at the Nordic Church Music Symposium 2024. Astner is also a composer and her works has been highly acclaimed.
